This teacher danced in the Myanmar coup

The military coup in Myanmar took an absurd turn on Monday, when a video spread over the social networks of a woman dancing in front of armored vehicles.

The aerobics video appears to have been filmed on Monday morning while the coup was underway, capturing a surreal scene from a military take with an animated electronic beat. The woman, called Khing Hnin Wai, dances for three minutes, apparently unaware of what is happening behind her. According to her Facebook profile, she is a physical education teacher hired by the country’s Ministry of Education.

Online, people call the video “the first great art of the 21st century” it is a “insane vibe from 2021. “

The video was so unbelievable that viewers began to wonder if she was dancing in front of a green screen. They pointed to the shadow behind the woman, part of which disappears in the video.

But the video is unlikely to be fake. A search of the site shows that she was dancing on the stairs of a roundabout not far from Myanmar’s parliament, which is why the shadow appears to have been cut. Street images posted by researcher Aric Toler from Bellingcat also confirm the location.

At the end of the day, the PE teacher posted other exercise videos filmed in the same location. She did not immediately respond to an interview request from BuzzFeed News.
