This is the epic scene that Marvel cut from its final ‘WandaVision’ – BGR

The first MCU Phase 4 adventure ended on Friday, when Disney + aired the WandaVision Final. The TV show should never open this phase of adventures, but the pandemic forced Marvel to change its programming. All films were delayed, and the first Disney + programs were also postponed because the health crisis interrupted several productions. That’s how WandaVision ended up being the first MCU Phase 4 title of the year. The show received a great response from fans, making it the biggest show on any streaming service. With each passing week, fans developed more and more theories about the various Easter eggs that Marvel planted in the series. Every detail and every line has been dissected in search of clues about the big picture.

Episode 9 provided many answers to some of our biggest questions, although it left others unanswered. Future Marvel shows and movies are likely to have at least some of the answers we seek. While the story of Wanda and Vision was satisfying to watch, some fans may be upset that we don’t have clearer hooks for the next MCU movies. This is something that was never intended, and director Mark Shakman made this clear in some interviews leading up to the WandaVision Final. Marvel wanted to tell a particular story of loss and love, and WandaVision got it. But Marvel also filmed many other exciting scenes that never made it to the final version of the nine episodes. Now, Shakman has revealed some of those rumors on a podcast with Kevin Smith. See well some spoilers follow below if you haven’t seen all nine episodes.

Shakman was a guest at Smith’s Fatman Beyond podcast (via Murphy’s Multiverse), where he addressed several questions about the program, explaining how the coronavirus pandemic forced the studio to make changes to the series.

Initially, Marvel wanted to release the first three episodes simultaneously, just as it did with critics who had access to those episodes prior to their Disney + debut. But Marvel ended up showing only the first two episodes on opening night. The first three episodes focus on the various sitcom-based worlds that Wanda and Vision were inhabiting. It is only at the end of the third episode that we see Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) kick Geraldine / Monica (Teyonah Parris) out of the Westview hex. That would have helped with the story on the opening night, as fans would have a sense of where it was going from the beginning. Some criticized the first two episodes for not seeming to advance the plot.

Marvel was under great pressure to finish the episodes in time for the scheduled release, however. Shakman explains that they finished the ending just two weeks before the official release date. They would have to delay the final episode if they continued with the original three-episode release.

It’s also interesting that at some point, WandaVision there would have been 10 episodes, according to the director:

Well, yes, things were constantly changing and being redone. The story was changing, especially many things in the real world and the ending. There was a lot of experimentation going on and a kind of trying different things. We also had 10 episodes planned and ended up collapsing a few, you know, just to make the pace a little better. But yes, they were constantly changing, and then, of course, as soon as we ended up in Atlanta the pandemic hit and we ended up having months off, then other changes during post-production and then ideas came up and small changes would happen as a result.

Interestingly, there has been a lot of speculation in the past few weeks that WandaVision there would be a tenth surprise episode.

Shakman also revealed that the ending would have a spectacular scene showing how Wanda ended up getting Darkhold. At some point, Monica would have joined Ralph (Evan Peters), Darcy (Kat Dennings) and the twins to steal the basement’s magic book.

They would have to beat Scratchy, the rabbit that many people theorized could be Mephisto. According to Shakman, Scratchy would have grown to become an unnamed demon protecting the Darkhold, but the special effects were not completed in time for the scene to be included at the end. Other special effects were also completed during coronavirus blocks, which explains why they may not look as good as we might expect from Marvel Studios.

Shakman, who directed all nine WandaVision episodes, also addressed the moment of the aerospace engineer who led fans to speculate in the middle of the series. Many people thought that this line was configuring Reed Richards and therefore the The fantastic four. In fact, that moment was designed only to shape Monica’s transformation into a superpowered being.

It is unclear whether any of these scenes will be shown, but Marvel could certainly finish them in the future. Smith’s full podcast is available below:

Chris Smith started writing about gadgets as a hobby and, before he knew it, was sharing his views on technology with readers around the world. Whenever he’s not writing about gadgets, he fails miserably to stay away from them, although he tries desperately. But this is not necessarily a bad thing.
