After months of rumors, a leaked image of what is said to be the third generation Apple AirPods and its accompanying case has surfaced. Previous reports noted that the next launch would serve as a means, in terms of price and performance, between the AirPods and AirPods Pro models currently on the market.
Courtesy of 52Audio, the leaked potential features an AirPods Pro in-ear design that is visibly missing the removable ear tip elements. In addition, rod controls and pressure equalizers also appear to be missing from the photo model. The accompanying case also appears to have a reduced design from the case included with the AirPods Pro.
52Audio is also noting that third generation Apple AirPods are “highly likely” to feature active noise cancellation and spatial audio, using similar AirPods Pro hardware.
New rumors are waiting for the third generation Apple AirPods to arrive in early March.
