The Weeknd clashes with plastic surgery in the video ‘Save Your Tears’

Weeknd is definitely embracing the “new year, you’re new”.

The 30-year-old singer exhibits some disturbing changes to his face – similar to extreme plastic surgery – in the video for his new song, “Save Your Tears”, which debuted on Tuesday and is from his “After Hours” album.

“But then you saw me, I took you by surprise,” he sings appropriately in the video, in which he displays a thin (and crooked) nose, swollen cheeks, swollen lips, surgical scars and other horrible new features.

His grotesquely exaggerated new look definitely shook viewers.

“Why does The Weeknd look like this in the music video Save Your Tears!?! I do not like this, ” said a horrified fan, while another letter borrowed from his 2018 hit “Can’t Feel My Face” to point out a handicap for prosthetics, saying, “I bet he can’t really feel your face right now.”

A fan speculated that it was “shadow” and a response to being snubbed by the now postponed 2021 Grammy Awards, a change that apparently left him emotionally hurt – if not physically – and he continued to vent.

Other tweeters suggested a new line of work: playing Batman’s villain, the Joker. Some, however, made comparisons to – and called it “Modern version” of the afternoon, surgery-obsessed singer Michael Jackson

The Weeknd representatives did not immediately respond to the Post’s request to comment on whether their disturbing new look was achieved through prostheses or CGI.

Of course, wearing heavy makeup is nothing new for The Weeknd, which will perform at the 2021 Super Bowl on February 7.

The video for his single “Blinding Lights” featured his bloody, bruised post-bender face – a look he recreated for the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards last August.

And in November, he covered his bruised face again with a surgical dressing to receive an award on stage at the American Music Awards.
