At the end of Wanda Maximoff’s pregnancy so fast it makes my heart flutter in WandaVision, she gives birth to twin boys named Billy and Tommy. Apparently, they are about 2 to 3 months old when they are born. This may be because Hollywood almost never makes newborns really Look like newborns. Alternatively, it may be a sign of the reality of the Wanda show moving so fast that it starts to crumble around it. We just don’t know!
Here’s what we Does know: Marvel’s cinematic universe is bringing Billy and Tommy into the fray for a reason. They are well-known and beloved characters in Marvel comics, and their existence in the MCU opens up huge questions about the future of the franchise. Before we start to speculate, here’s what is important to understand about the Maximoff boys.
Billy and Tommy have superpowers.
Like their mother and father, Billy and Tommy have superhuman abilities, which can make it challenging to raise them in the “normal” suburb of Westview. (It is safe to guess that this influences the Brady Bunch(the weird mood of the next episodes). In the comics, Billy Maximoff has reality-distortion skills like his mother, Scarlet Witch, while Tommy can run as fast as his late uncle Pietro. Notably, none of them seem to share any skills with their father, Vision.
What makes us think if …
They may have been created from fragments of a demon’s soul.

So far, the MCU has not delved too far into the mythological components of the Marvel comic book universe, in addition to its plot centered on Thor and Loki. But Marvel has long loved to create gigantic villains that take the form of demons, gods and goddesses (and cosmic entities that like to eat whole planets) Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to think WandaVision can shepherd some new villains over the other world. Which brings us to the demonic Mephisto.
Many fans believe that Mephisto will be WandaVisionit is the ultimate great evil. In the comics, Wanda is so desperate to have children with her android husband, Vision, that she creates a false pregnancy, then uses her magic to bring her two twins into existence. What she doesn’t discover until later is that she pulled Billy and Tommy’s souls from Mephisto’s soul fragments, imbuing them with something evil. When Mephisto comes to recover these soul fragments, the twins disappear, effectively “dying” and sending Wanda in a spiral of mourning.
I would be surprised if WandaVision exactly follows this arc: A) because it is predictable and B) because it is extremely dark, but would be be the perfect opportunity to reveal how Mephisto is holding the strings of the show.
We can see a different version of them in the next MCU films.
What makes Billy and Tommy look like in WandaVision so it is not necessarily how they will affect the show itself (although these implications can be huge). It’s how they can impact all the next MCU films.
You see, in the comics, Billy and Tommy are reincarnated as Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd, two super-teens who eventually become Wiccan and Speed. At the time, they do not know that they are brothers and do not understand their connection to the Scarlet Witch and the Vision. Eventually, Billy puts the pieces together: when he starts telling people that he’s Scarlet Witch’s reincarnated son, they kind of hint that he’s a crazy super fan and encourage him to, er, stop being weird. But Billy – always a sweetheart – persists, and eventually it is revealed that he is telling the truth: Billy and Tommy, in fact, have returned from beyond the grave!
At this point, Billy and Tommy are the main members of the Young Avengers. Billy is one of the first gay characters in the Marvel universe, deeply in love with his team member Teddy Altman, also known as the Hulkling shape-shifter. We know from previous cast announcements that other Young Avengers are going to the MCU screen: Hailee Steinfeld will play Kate Bishop at the next Disney + show Hawkeye; Kathryn Newton will play an older Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania; and Xochitl Gomez will play America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. These news are almost an inoperative revelation that a Young Avengers franchise is on the horizon, and Billy and Tommy could be his next heroes.
