Friday’s episode of “WandaVision” ended with a half-credit scene that set the stage for a big showdown.

At the end of the last installment, Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) told Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) that her ability to dominate the city of Westview and create an alternative and happier reality for herself is the result of the magic of chaos.

The villain then called Wanda the name Scarlet Witch, the comic book nickname fans have been waiting for since she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron”.

The intermediate credits scene showed SWORD director Tyler Hayward and his team finally launching the Cataract Project

Director Tyler Hayward (Josh Stamberg) entered the SWORD tent and said that many attempts have been made to bring the Cataract Project to life.

“We took this thing apart and set it up a million times. We tried all kinds of power supplies under the sun, when all we needed was a little power directly from the source,” said Hayward while standing in a tent located outside the hex wanda’s house.

The camera then cuts to the drone that was sent through the spell during episode five, in order to communicate with Wanda and try to reach her.

The armed drone was eventually dragged out of the spell by Wanda herself after Hayward ordered her agents to shoot her with the gun.

Saving the technology proved to be useful because it still contained Wanda’s energy in it.

The team harnessed the power of Wanda to launch their mysterious project, which was finally revealed as a synthetoid modeled after Vision (Paul Bettany) that is white instead of colored.

This big revelation was unexpected, but not entirely surprising

Since Hayward’s debut on “WandaVision”, he has been suspicious and apparently makes decisions based on his own prejudices and personal interests.

During a SWORD briefing, Hayward said that based on information collected from Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) inside the bubble, he came to the conclusion that Wanda was the “main victimizer” and a “terrorist”.

Hayward continued to argue with Monica about whether or not Wanda was the villain in this situation. To prove his point, he even shared “highly sensitive” surveillance images taken at SWORD headquarters that he claimed he was authorized to finally share.

The videos showed Wanda breaking into a headquarters room and arriving at the laboratory that was secretly housing Vision’s severed corpse, last seen in 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War”.

“Nine days ago, Maximoff invaded our facility and stole Vision’s body and resuscitated it,” Hayward said with Jimmy Woo adding that such action was a direct violation of the Sokovia Agreements.

“It is the will of the Vision itself,” said Hayward, portraying Wanda as the villain for reviving the Vision against her wishes.

Hayward continued to act aggressively against Wanda.

Then Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) hacked Hayward’s firewall on his computer and discovered that he was tracking the Vision inside the hexagon and had a file called Project Cataract.

Jimmy and Monica realized then that Hayward was trying to bring the Vision back online and turn it into a conscious weapon.

The last episode confirmed that Hayward’s secret agenda all the time was to turn the Vision into a weapon

Although this revelation was not shocking, fans also found out that Hayward lied about Wanda’s visit to SWORD headquarters.

A previous moment in the episode related Wanda’s trip there, while she asked a man at the reception to let her in so she could at least give Vision a funeral.

Hayward himself met with Wanda and then showed the body of his Vision in the laboratory. He said they were “taking apart the most sophisticated weapon ever made”.

Hayward told Wanda that he couldn’t allow her to take the body, but she could say goodbye to him.

Angry, Wanda broke the glass and went into the lab to take a closer look, but she didn’t steal the body as Hayward said. Instead, she touched his head and realized that she could no longer feel him.

Then she calmly left the building, got in the car and headed to Westview to visit the property that was under her and Vision’s name. She created her alternate sitcom reality there that set “WandaVision” in motion.

And the version of the Vision inside the hex was shown to be created entirely by Wanda, who gained additional special abilities years before when she volunteered for Hydra and was exposed to the Mindstone.

The introduction of a new synthetoid during the middle credits scene creates an interesting dynamic, as the season comes to an end soon

Although Agatha is the main villain currently at odds with Wanda, Hayward’s decision to forge a sytezoid that looks like the Vision is likely to irritate the Avenger.

It is possible for Hayward to use the weapon to try to end Wanda’s spell. The white synthaseoid may also face Wanda’s version of vision.

Visionary actor Bettany also made a special appearance on the show in several interviews.

“There is a huge revelation with an actor that I always wanted to work with and I have some really explosive scenes with him,” he told E! News.

Bettany made a similar comment during an interview for the Lights, Camera, Barstool podcast, saying, “I work with this actor that I’ve always wanted to work with and we make fireworks together. The scenes are great and I think people will be really excited . “

New episodes of “WandaVision” are released on Friday at midnight PT on Disney Plus.
