The video captures the moment when the hero dog stopped traffic during the apprehension of the owner

A dog named Clover is being hailed by the Canadian media as a hero for helping his human, Haley Moore, survive a seizure that hit her suddenly while walking.

Moore was strolling through Ottawa’s Stittsville neighborhood on Tuesday when she grabbed and fell to the curb, CTV News reported.

The incident was captured by a neighbor’s home security camera.

Clover, a mix of a year and a half Maremma, went into action, attending Moore first before jumping into the street and stopping traffic.

Dryden Oatway, a driver who stopped thanks to Clover’s heroism, said, “It was really impressive, the dog really blocked my way. She kind of backed up on the road to block my truck.”

Clover stopped another driver and returned home.

“All I remember is waking up in the ambulance and getting really confused, like, ‘What’s going on?'” Moore recalled in an interview with CTV. The cause of the seizure remains unknown.

Moore’s father, Randall Moore, told CTV that Clover was fed delicious steaks as a reward for his faithful service.

Psychology Today reported in March that new research suggests that dogs that prevent seizures are aided by the smell of volatile organic compounds that are excreted around the seizures.
