Black Caucus meets with VP Harris to discuss stimulus project
On Wednesday night, members of Congressional Black Caucus met with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss the American Rescue Plan, which the White House hopes to be approved by House of Representatives on Friday. Throughout the pandemic, much of the damage was felt most harshly by individuals, families and companies from minorities.
In announcing his stimulus project in January, he said of his proposal for companies: “Our priority will be blacks, Latinos, Asians and Native Americans owned by small companies, women companies finally having equal access to the resources needed to reopen and rebuild. “
The $ 1,400 stimulus checks are expected to provide the immediate assistance needed to support families who lost income during the pandemic. As Rep. Williams points out, the black community was disproportionately affected by covid-19.
