The sun rises on the snow-covered Alamo in San Antonio

SANTO ANTÓNIO – Snow at night covered the Poplar and the rest of the center – a sight rarely seen.

KSAT’s Sarah Acosta reported live from the San Antonio landmark early Monday morning and said the Alamo Plaza had received about two inches of snow.

KSAT viewers sent great images of ice and snow conditions to our KSAT Connect page over the weekend and overnight until Monday morning, as temperatures plummeted.

From Sunday night to Monday, San Antonio and the surrounding area saw 3-6 inches of snow – the most the area has seen since 1985.

Transport and local government officials are asking people to avoid traveling as much as possible due to icy conditions.
