The NFL will definitely have played 255 games in the 2020 regular season when the clock strikes midnight. The final number is likely to be 256.

For now, however, the Steelers-Browns game is in a vague state of limbo. According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Sunday morning tests are taking place. So far, there have been no positive results. A clear answer is expected soon.

The Browns have seven players on the COVID-19 reserve list and will lose three coaches. The league concluded that the underlying infections resulted from the spread in the community and not an outbreak within the facility.

Even with players and coaches continuing to catch the virus off the premises, the league managed to prevent another outbreak. For the season, there were only two: Tennessee in late September and Baltimore in late November.

UPDATE 10:45 ET: It’s all clear to the Browns. The game started.
