The Sony Xperia Pro 5G may finally be ‘coming soon’ in the USA

If you are one of the few people who can be excited about the prospect of new ultra-high-end equipment Sony smartphone, you should know that there is something in the pipeline that will probably beat the Xperia 1 III when it comes to official availability in the USA.

We are talking about the Sony Xperia Pro, which is essentially a “field-ready” derivation of the “mainstream” The Xperia 1 II was initially launched in February. While it may seem that this particular powerhouse has long since lost its train in the United States, B&H Photo Video claims that the 5G-enabled device will be launched in the United States after all … at some point in the not-too-distant future.
Unfortunately, the retailer is not ready to accept orders or reveal exactly when we should expect the unlocked Xperia Pro 5G to go on sale. All you can do today is sign up for availability notifications and hope the device doesn’t get too expensive.
Then again, given that the unlocked Sony Xperia 1 II typically costs arguably an excess of $ 1,200 in a 256 GB storage variant, we don’t see how a 512 GB configuration of the Xperia Pro could cost less than $ 1,300. This is the best scenario too, mind you, considering that this bad boy adds HDMI connectivity to his non-Pro brother’s already impressive spec sheet (by early 2020 standards, at least).

This is an incredibly rare feature for a smartphone, allowing you to use your mobile device as a high-quality external monitor for your professional digital camera. The Sony Xperia Pro comes with its own solid trio of 12MP rear shooters, of course, as well as a breathtaking 6.5-inch OLED screen with 4K resolution (3840 x 1644 pixels).

The not-so-remarkable part of the phone’s feature list is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor, which is about to make news yesterday. The 8 GB RAM count is also not exactly surprising for a device with a warranty costing more than $ 1,000 (possibly much more), but there is a chance that the Xperia Pro will actually support 5G connectivity in the US, as opposed to Xperia 1 II.
