FOR-aww.
A strong dog called Skipper is believed to be the first dog with six legs to be born alive – and it continues to thrive.
Skipper the Aussie and Collie mix recently made its debut at Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma City, born with six legs and two tails, the animal hospital confirmed on Facebook. According to the birth announcement, published on Sunday, Skipper has joint congenital diseases monocephalus dipygus and monocephalus rachipagus dibrachius tetrapus. It has a head and a chest cavity, but “2 pelvic regions, 2 lower urinary tracts, 2 reproductive systems, 2 tails and 6 legs, among other things”, as a result of the rare disorders.

“All your legs move and respond to the stimulus like a normal puppy,” wrote the veterinary hospital about Skipper.

Officials speculated that the precious puppy may have been in the womb with a brother, but the two embryos did not separate. The newborn dog also has signs of spina bifida, the veterinary hospital wrote, but the super skipper’s organs are in “great shape” with active bowel movements.
Skipper is a true medical “miracle”, wrote Neel Veterinary, as no published research indicates that any other dog with its combination of congenital diseases has survived birth.
The fighting puppy has been rejected by its mother and is being bottle-fed, according to a GoFundMe page created in its name. More than $ 4,600 has been raised for the beautiful dog so far.

“She will need many visits to the vet and possibly future surgery to correct some problems, if they arise,” explained the organizer.
However, “all your legs move and respond to the stimulus like a normal puppy,” wrote Neel’s vets. “We will continue to research your condition, monitor your development during checks and help keep Skipper pain-free and comfortable for the rest of your life.”
