The second year of Bowling Green State University dies after drinking at a fraternity event, says the family lawyer

“He was a beloved son, brother and grandson,” said Alto. “At the moment, we are gathering all the facts that led to his untimely death and we have no interest in commenting on speculation.”

The International Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity said in a statement on Saturday that a new member of the BGSU chapter “was involved in an alleged alcohol-related hazing incident at an off-campus event.”

“The International Brotherhood is horrified and outraged by this incident,” said the International Brotherhood in a statement. “The Brotherhood has a zero tolerance policy towards illegal activities, substance abuse, bullying and prank calls of any kind.”

The BGSU chapter was put on “administrative suspension”, added the fraternity. “We will also seek the permanent suspension of the Delta Beta Chapter, as well as the expulsion of all members of the Chapter of the International Fraternity.

A BGSU spokesman told CNN that he also put his Pi Kappa Alpha chapter on provisional suspension.

“Investigations by the local police and the university are ongoing,” Alex Solis, a spokesman for BGSU, told CNN in an e-mailed statement. “However, I can confirm that we have placed Pi Kappa Alpha in provisional suspension for alleged hazing activity.”

A Virginia Commonwealth University fraternity was suspended after the death of a 19-year-old student
On Saturday, the university said in a series of tweets who met with “student leaders to decide the short and long-term future of life in fraternity and fellowship at BGSU”.

“BGSU is committed not only to student conduct and law enforcement investigations, but to a thorough investigation into the prevention and compliance responsibilities of each Greek chapter under university policies that prohibit prank calls,” wrote the university.

Duncan Faulk, Foltz’s first-year roommate at BGSU, lamented his friend.

“It’s hard to imagine my life without him,” Faulk told CNN affiliate WTVG. “He’s been there since I grew up and having him as a friend is one of the only things I always know. It’s just going to be hard to know that he won’t be there doing the things he liked to do. I’m really going to miss him.”

Foltz’s family was able to donate their organs, Alto said.
