House Of The Dragon, set in the same fictional universe as Game Of Thrones, but centuries before, already has a starring cast.
The four new names were announced on Variety on Thursday and are part of a program that includes Doctor Who and The Crown star Matt Smith.

House Of The Dragon is an adaptation of the 2018 novel Fire And Blood by George RR Martin, whose works also served as the basis for Game Of Thrones.
The show is about the Dance of the Dragons, a war resulting from internal struggles in the ruling Targaryen family of Westeros.
Game Of Thrones singled out Emilia Clarke as the platinum blonde queen Daenerys Targaryen who is known as the ‘Mother of Dragons’.
Matt Smith stars as Daemon Targaryen, who is the uncle and husband of Emma D’Acry’s character, Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Paddy Considine will head the cast as King Viserys I, whose sons Rhaenyra and Aegon II start the civil war on the line of succession.
Aegon II has not yet been cast, but it has been announced that his mother, Alicent Hightower, will be played by Olivia Cooke of the famous Bates Motel.
Steve is playing Velaryon, Corlys’ ‘The Sea Snake’, who is the fabulously wealthy master of a noble house and commander of the largest navy in Westeros.

HBO has confirmed that House Of The Dragon will begin shooting in April, according to Deadline, and is scheduled to premiere next year.
