The OnePlus 9 leak suggests wireless charging support in addition to 65W wired charging

We’ve seen some leaks on the next line of OnePlus flagships in the past few weeks, and we’ve heard that the company will launch the OnePlus 9 series four weeks ahead of its normal launch schedule. The leaks also revealed that the company’s next generation flagships will include three devices – the OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro and the OnePlus 9E.

According to recent leaks, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset – the Snapdragon 888. The devices will feature a new camera module design with updated camera hardware, and the OnePlus 9 will include 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of integrated storage and 4,500 mAh battery. The OnePlus 9E, or OnePlus 9 Lite, will feature the same hardware as the recently launched OnePlus 8T, with Snapdragon 865 SoC, a 90Hz or 120Hz AMOLED display and support for 65W fast charging.

Speaking of fast charging, the latest leak on the upcoming OnePlus flagships suggests that the OnePlus 9 will also feature support for 65W wired fast charging, along with 30W fast wireless charging and support for wireless reverse charging. A recent report from 91mobiles confirmed these claims with what appears to be close-up images of the OnePlus 9 screen showing the “Wireless charging” device and a new “Reverse charge” toggle button in the quick settings.

These images come from a reliable source, which further revealed that both the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will support 30W wireless fast charging. The devices will also be the company’s first to support reverse wireless charging.

Although we have yet to receive any confirmation from OnePlus about charging technologies in its upcoming flagships, the information revealed by the most recent leak seems quite plausible. This is due to the fact that a recent leak on OPPO’s next flagship, Find X3 Pro, suggests that the device will also support 65W wired fast charging and 30W wireless fast charging. Since OPPO and OnePlus share the same charging technologies, it makes sense that the latter offers the same in their next generation flagships.
