The next generation update for Division 2 will arrive next week with improved resolutions and performance for PS5 and Xbox Series X players.
Ubisoft community manager Johan Lindholm confirmed on his Twitter account that the update is scheduled to arrive on February 2, entering the game along with the crossover event celebrating the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil. The 12.1 title update will add support for 4K and 60 frames per second for players on next generation consoles – probably PS5 and Xbox Series X specifically, although the Xbox Series S is likely to benefit from the increased frame rate as well.
No situation tomorrow. TU12.1 will launch on February 2 with the Resident Evil Apparel event, a rebalancing of the Optimization Station cost, as well as support for 4K 60 FPS for next generation consoles.January 26, 2021
When Ubisoft announced its plans for the patch in December, it warned players in advance that they shouldn’t expect a fully optimized next generation experience with this update; it may not take advantage of all the new console features or significantly improve the appearance of individual assets, but much remains to be said about higher resolutions and smoother frame rates.
The update is also set to rebalance the cost of the Optimization Station. The return feature of the Division’s first game arrived on Title Update 12 in December, allowing players to upgrade the attributes of individual pieces of equipment to their maximum value (which can save a lot of time, while consuming a lot of resources). It looks like we will have to wait and see how much rebalancing changes the cost of using the station.
Either way, you’ll have plenty of reasons to play next week, since you can start unlocking Resident Evil skins and weapons during the two-week event.
It’s good to know that the Division is so excited about Resident Evil 8 as we are.
