The next free game from the Epic Games Store is a popular AAA release

As it does every Thursday, the Epic Games Store today unveiled the next series of titles that will be available in the store next week. Luckily, next week’s slate is marked by the arrival of not just one, but two free releases, with one offering being a notable AAA game released not too long ago.

It will air next week on February 18th, Anger 2 and Absolute Deviation are scheduled to be the next games that arrive at the Epic Games Store for free. In the case of the previous title, Anger 2, the shooting game developed by id Software was released only in 2019 and was praised by many as one of the best games of its kind in the year it was released. It is rare to see an AAA title like this coming to the Epic Games Store, which means this is a game you should not miss.

As for Absolute Deviation, although the game may have less name recognition compared to Anger 2, is incredibly well received by those who played it. The game was first released in 2015 and shows the game trying to become “a master in the art of drifting”. In simpler terms, Absolute Deviation puts you in control of a car where you must race against the clock and rack up a high score. The main mechanics of the game revolve around, you guessed it, adrift. The better you start to implement it, the higher scores you can get.

In the meantime, this week’s free game is Halcyon 6 that just became available this morning. As well as every week, idyllic will be free until next week at 11am EST on Thursday, February 18th. After that time, Anger 2 and Absolute Deviation will become the free games available while idyllic is available again at its normal rate.
