The mommy dog helps rescuers save their 8-month-old golden retriever puppy that was trapped under a rock

Mom to the rescue!

First aid in Pennsylvania saved a missing dog thanks to the puppy’s canine mother – who found him trapped under a rock.

Lake Winola firefighters and Tunkhannock Township police officer Timothy McCoy received an emergency call on Monday about the dog in need, an 8-month-old golden retriever named Brandy, according to WBRE / WYOU.

Brandy disappeared on Sunday night. Its owner, Nadia Delicati, looked for the dog, but could not find it alone. Delicati’s search was extended because Brandy was unable to answer his owner’s calls. The puppy’s head was stuck in a small hole under a rock, making it impossible for it to flick.

Fortunately, Delicati’s other dog, Brandy’s mother, Bailey, ended up taking its owner to the missing puppy using its canine sense of smell.

AKC meets again

After finding Brandy, Delicati called the authorities to help save the puppy. It is a good thing that she did, because it took five firefighters to free the dog.

“We had to make the hole a little bigger, so that we could put our smallest guy,” said Lieutenant Nate Evans of the Lake Winola Volunteer Fire Department.

Finally, they were able to lift the rock “just enough for her head to come out,” added Lake Winola Volunteer Fire Department lieutenant Eric Coolbaugh.

Brandy was “definitely hungry” and exhausted after the ordeal, but came out unscathed, except for some pain in her paws.

“It ran straight to its owner. Honestly, it was like a movie scene,” said McCoy.

After the meeting, Brandy began to thank all the individuals who helped make his rescue possible.

“We see so many tragic events that something like that, you can safely get it out, and we received a lot of kisses and love from the dog,” said Coolbaugh. “It made our day. It made it a great time.”
