The Minecraft Speedrunning team rejects Dream’s rebuttal to abnormalities in its 1.16 record

Not much is known about Dream other than the fact that he is an incredibly skilled Minecraft YouTuber, who grew at an exponential rate to end 2020 with 15 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

However, the Minecraft speedrunner was recently examined, as its presentation of a 1.16 speedrun record was not approved by the Speedrunning team, which, in general terms, said Dream was very lucky during its speedrun; luckier than is usually possible in the realm of Minecraft.

The math behind his accusation was provided and Dream, after spending days in his rebuttal, left with the help of a specialist who goes by the name Photoexcitation.

Now, the Minecraft Speedrunning team has made another statement, rejecting the Photoexcitation report and therefore Dream’s rebuttal to its accusations. The team pointed out in their new report, the areas where they believe that the math was applied incorrectly and incorrect conclusions were reached that appeared to be in favor of Dream.

However, the team also added that even the chances and likelihood of Dream having this luck in the drops it received according to the Photoexcitation report are much greater than what can be considered admissible or plausible according to the RNG involved in the Minecraft.

The author of Dream’s answer article seems to mix frequentist and Bayesian methods, resulting in an uninterpretable final result. In addition, these methods are applied incorrectly, preventing valid conclusions from being made. Despite these problems being in favor of Dream, the author presents a probability that still suggests that Dream was using a modified game. Therefore, our conclusion remains unchanged.

Dream also highlighted the same during his response, but said that while the number in the Fotoexcitation report is still considered much higher than normal, he believed it could still happen or happen during a speedrun.

The popular Minecraft YouTuber seems to have accepted the decision of the moderators and apologized for his initial reaction and behavior when the saga started. The 2020 Gaming Streamy Awards winner moved on and drove fans crazy after he teased his face revealed as part of Mr. Beast’s 2020 on YouTube.
