A possible blizzard with violent gusts and a “confused” snowfall of up to 25 centimeters is heading for New York City after the weekend’s cold snap.
The National Meteorological Service issued a winter storm alert for the late afternoon from Sunday to Monday, with a “chance of heavy snow” between 6 to 10 inches and gusts of up to 72 km / h. Snowfall may subside on Tuesday night.

The storm will affect the city, in northeastern New Jersey and southern Connecticut, with coastal flooding forecast in effect for Long Island and southern Queens on Monday.
NBC News 4 is projecting a little more snow in the city, with 20 to 30 centimeters of snow.
“Current projections show that snow is moving to New Jersey in the afternoon (Sunday), arriving in the city at some point during the afternoon or night. It will be cold enough for the snow to stick immediately, ”said NBC News 4.
This snowstorm will be “confusing”, warned ABC 7, and the National Weather Service says visibility will be limited at times.

Sunday’s snowstorm came after a polar vortex lowered temperatures to almost 30 degrees on Saturday, with low temperatures down to -5 degrees, thanks to “the coldest air mass of the season,” said Governor Andrew Cuomo on Friday -market.
