The masks that appear in emails marked as sent from Amazon and China are part of the latest scam

Face masks are appearing in mailboxes, although recipients say they did not order them.

Consumers are reporting that the masks appear only in an ordinary brown envelope, labeled with Amazon and China. However, there is no invoice or paperwork, just the face mask.

The Better Business Bureau reports that this is the last item delivered in what is known as a brushing stroke.

It is a scam in which companies, usually international sellers, send cheap items in the mail to addresses they find online. Their goal is to try to increase their ratings with Amazon.

As soon as items are received, they publish false and positive reviews to improve their rating, which can result in more sales.

We have warned you about this scam several times over the years.

During the summer, seed shipments from China were used in the brushing scheme.

Viewers also received other items, such as a fake gold ring and other trinkets.

If this happens to you, change your Amazon password just for security. You can also contact Amazon customer service and report it as a fraudulent purchase.

If you get one of these masks, of course, you should throw it away, as you just don’t know where it has been.

In addition, according to the FTC, you are allowed to keep something you did not request if it is sent specifically to your name and address, and you do not owe money for it.
