miHoYo will release the version 1.3 update for Impact Genshin on February 3, which adds the new seasonal New Year event “Lantern Rite” and more.

Impact Genshin is a free, open-world action RPG that takes players into the visually stunning world of Teyvat. The player takes on the role of the mysterious “Traveler”, who sets out on a journey to discover the fate of his lost brother and unravel Teyvat’s mysterious secrets along the way. Currently, players can explore Mondstadt and Liyue Harbor, two of the seven main cities in Teyvat, each with unique cultures, stories and vast surrounding landscapes, offering a diversity of creatures, monsters, secrets and hidden treasures for players to discover. Other cities, stories, characters and seasonal events will be launched as the game progresses.
At the next seasonal event included in version 1.3, travelers will find themselves welcoming Teyvat’s New Year at Liyue’s biggest annual festival, Lantern Rite. Travelers will be able to immerse themselves in this ancestral tradition by helping the inhabitants of Liyue with various preparations for the festivities and, of course, participating in the grand ceremony on the night of the first full moon of the year. During this ceremony, countless lanterns will light up the night sky, taking the wishes of all families to the skies. Meanwhile, the busy streets of Liyue will be filled with food stalls and festive activities exclusive to Lantern Rite, including a brand new tower defense strategy game – Theater Mechanicus.
The Lantern Rite will also mark the arrival of Xiao, the Vigilant Yaksha, as a new playable 5-star character. Wielding a pole weapon and the power of Anemo, Xiao is a fierce adept warrior whose elemental explosion grants him more damage at the cost of continually draining his health. During the Lantern Rite, Travelers will have the chance to accompany Xiao for a day in the life of a guardian of Liyue, offering a rare glimpse into his lonely life for the past millennia.
Generous features and rewards will be available at version 1.3 events to fully prepare travelers for a new year of adventure in Teyvat. During the Lantern Rite period, travelers can claim 10 free interlaced destinations through a daily login event and obtain more than 1,600 Primogems and many features, including the Crown of Insight, completing other festive events. In addition, travelers will also have the chance to choose a free 4-star character from Liyue to add to the group.
New customization features and additional optimizations will also be introduced in the next version. The Archive will be expanded to include information on discovered creatures and defeated enemies, and Travelers will also be able to show up to eight of their characters via the Profile screen. Finally, a new gadget called the Parametric Transformer will provide a means of transmuting excess resources, turning them into something useful.
Impact Genshin is now available for PlayStation 4, PC, iOS through the App Store and Android through Google Play. A Switch version is also planned.
