The Epic Games Store is leaning even more towards exclusivity and there’s a Spring Showcase this week

Expect much more exclusives from the Epic Store until at least 2022

The Epic Games Store is guaranteeing even more exclusivity for the next two years and, later this week, is broadcasting a Spring Showcase event with game announcements (and making a corresponding sale).

This first part is crucial and lays the foundation for Epic’s ongoing strategy. In a statement to PC Gamer, a representative said the store has “more exclusive offers in the next two years than we have published so far”.

The list includes titles we know, like this year’s Darkest Dungeon 2, and probably not many. There is also the issue of genDesign, PlayDead and Remedy publishing agreements with Epic Games.

At the end of this week, we will see “a curated collection of new ads, gameplay and extended looks presented by the developers who create the games we all love” in an event broadcast live. Epic Games Store Spring Showcase airs on Twitch at 11am Pacific Time Thursday, February 11.

At this point, there’s no telling what Epic could have up its sleeve – established IPs, new indies and everything. As long as these deals are offered and the terms are attractive, we will see many more promising games linked to the Epic Store for at least a year after launch.

It seems genuinely that this plan of attack can continue uninterrupted for a long time, long Time.
