The Epic Games Store features a long-awaited feature

One of the biggest complaints that fans have had about the Epic Games Store in recent years is that it doesn’t offer as many features when compared to other digital markets. While Epic was slow to add major updates to the platform, it looks like 2021 may finally be the year that some long-awaited additions will finally be added to the showcase.

In a recent blog on the Epic website, some of the plans for the Epic Games Store over the next year were detailed. Epic said that one of its biggest goals for EGS this year is to make it a more desirable platform for developers to publish their games. “We want a smooth and perfect experience for developers looking to bring their titles to the Epic Games Store,” explained the blog post. As a whole, this will allow customers to buy even more games, instead of having to go elsewhere to buy a game.

While this is an important feature that Epic focuses on, the company also said it wants to improve the customer experience much more. As such, they say that further improvements to the Achievements and Wish List features will come. In addition, Epic is also looking to improve the social experience at EGS as a whole and also make some adjustments to player profiles.

Perhaps most importantly, however, Epic has also artfully provoked that one of the most requested features for the Epic Games Store should also be coming. Although not fully mentioned, Epic ended its posting with a shopping cart emoji followed by a question mark. This seems to indicate that a shopping cart feature will finally go to the Epic Games Store at some point in the future. At this point, games cannot be added to a larger cart on the platform and must be purchased one by one instead. Many EGS users have been asking for a solution to this for some time now and it appears that these requests will finally be answered.

At this time, Epic has not given a specific time frame as to when these features can be formally added to the market. We will be sure to keep our eyes open for more information and keep you informed here on ComicBook.com going forward.

So, how do you feel about these future changes at the Epic Games Store? And what else would you like to see the platform adjusted in the future? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter at @ MooreMan12.
