The Mayor of Del Rio, Texas, Bruno Lozano (D) joined “Seu Mundo” on Monday and called the Biden government’s border crisis a “slap in the face” and asked the government: “Whose side are you on it is?”
Well, I spoke to Julie Rodriguez from the White House. They said they were trying to meet needs and trying to draw up an action plan, but this is nothing new. We were managing in 2019 and here we are in 2021 managing yet another major crisis and nothing is being done. It is a Biden border crisis in my opinion because there is no action whatsoever. Seeing what we are seeing now, what was happening in the Vale do Rio Grande with people wrapped in blankets made of silver, it is kind of absurd what is happening.
When you are pleading with the president to prevent the release of migrants in your community, while we are dealing with a weather phenomenon that has not happened for 20-30 years, and we only have three or four days of that time for the border patrol sector, which by the way, we have a great relationship on the spot with our boss and non-governmental organizations. Whose side are you on? The American people ran out of water, without electricity for days on end in del Rio, Texas, and are you going to release the migrants? Those individuals who seek a better life and an opportunity in this climatic phenomenon? I don’t understand – I don’t understand how it could happen.
