A few weeks after Cloris Leachman’s death, his cause of death was announced.
The 94-year-old actress died of a stroke, revealed her death certificate, according to Entertainment Tonight. COVID-19 was also listed as a significant condition that contributed to his death, but was not the underlying cause.
A San Diego coroner representative did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
The star of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” was cremated on February 7, and her remains are being kept at the home of her daughter Dinah Englund in Encinitas, California.
The beloved Oscar winner died on January 27, her longtime agent Juliet Green confirmed to Page Six at the time.
“I was privileged to work with Cloris Leachman, one of the most fearless actresses of our time,” Green told Page Six in a statement. “There was no one like Cloris. With a single glance she had the ability to break your heart or make you laugh until tears were streaming down your face. You never knew what Cloris was going to say or do and that unpredictable quality was part of his incomparable magic. “
Green added that she “loved her children and grandchildren fiercely” and was “a lifelong vegetarian” and “a passionate defender of animal rights”.
Leachman passed away at his home with Englund at his side.
