The Biden government is creating a “border crisis” in Texas with its immigration policies, former DHS acting secretary Chad Wolf told Fox & Friends on Friday.
Wolf reacted to a Texas border mayor by pleading with President Biden to help his city struggling with extreme weather conditions, the coronavirus pandemic and an influx of undocumented migrants crossing the border.
“I am begging and asking you to please suspend any measures regarding the release of immigrants awaiting trial in and around Del Rio,” said Bruno Lozano, mayor of Del Rio, Texas, in a video message to Biden Wednesday market.
THE MAYOR OF THE BORDER STARTS BIDEN TO STOP FREEING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO YOUR CITY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINTER STORM
Del Rio has 50,000 residents, but with the recent influx of undocumented migrants released by the Border Patrol – largely due to coronavirus restrictions that limit detention times for illegal immigrants – the small town has failed to keep up.
WOLF: Yes, it is really remarkable. It seems that the Biden government and DHS officials and others have learned nothing from the crisis we saw in 2019. So what the mayor just outlined there. We heard hundreds of border communities along the border in 2019, where we had a massive crisis, an influx of individuals, and assembled a patchwork of policies and procedures that significantly reduce this flow. And in just a few weeks here, since the day of the inauguration, there have been a series of executive and political orders that have created a border crisis, a humanitarian crisis that the mayor describes there.

WOLF: “They created it out of the blue. It didn’t have to happen. It was under control. But again, several of these policies remain very, very worrying. And then, of course, the bill, the legislation we’re talking about, still encourages more people with amnesty. They reduce penalties for those crossing the border. They provide lawyers for those who enter the country. So there are a number of factors that the Biden government is unfortunately sending smugglers and traffickers and others that there are not problem coming. “
