The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla expansion in Ireland arrives in April • Eurogamer.net

Fully detailed Easter event.

Wrath of the Druids, the first major expansion of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, will be released on April 29.

Set in Ireland, a new country for the game, Wrath of the Druids will see heroine Valhalla Eivor tracking members of a Druidic cult called Children of Danu. You will also immerse yourself in Gaelic myths and folklore and meet even more local kings.

The expansion is available to purchase separately or part of the game’s season pass. Here’s a quick look:

First of all, the previously announced Ostara Festival will arrive in your town of Ravensthorpe today as part of Valhalla’s free seasonal content. Running until April 8, it presents the return of the mini-games of drinking, archery and fighting (we have already seen them on Yuletide).

Three new missions will allow Eivor to go hunting for eggs, fight night spirits and become a Queen of May. There are also new settlement decorations and customization items to unlock.

Later this season, Ubisoft will add another new game mode: Mastery Challenge. This sounds like a combat-focused version of the River Raid repeatable challenge mode, and will be introduced by a “Master” who will arrive at the settlement. Could we get any new killer stories at the same time?

This week, Valhalla finally added transmog gear and a handful of new skills, and also offered fans a family throwback fantasy as a freebie.
