Tweets from Texas Republican lawmakers scoffing at California’s power outages are being criticized this week, as the lone star state struggles with winter storms that have caused many to lose energy in their homes.
Republican Party lawmakers wiped out Democrats when massive heat waves in California in 2019 caused widespread power cuts that affected 30 of the state’s 58 counties.
Over the weekend, an unusual winter storm left millions in Texas without power, causing the state’s grid operator to declare its highest state of emergency and bringing up the old tweets of Republican lawmakers.
