Tesla is betting everything on building cars in stalls with GA 4.5.

Far back, during the acceleration phase of the Tesla Model 3 (also known as “Production Hell”), Big T thought that the best way to increase production numbers would be build a big old tent at its Fremont plant and produce vehicles there. That tent was called GA 4. We made jokes about it, understandably, but in turn, Tesla continued with the whole tent thing as a solution to the space restrictions at Fremont.
This leads us to a report published on Friday by Teslarati that Tesla is making a new tent, officially known as GA 4.5, permanent. It is not permanent because it will become a building, but it is permanent because it will continue to be used to build cars indefinitely and will have utilities installed on the ground.
Of course, it’s easy to mock Tesla for building cars in a tent if recent memories and warnings from Chinese government, as well as low scores in JD Power reliability study show, make you question its build quality.
We would ask Tesla for a comment on his big news, but she no longer has a public relations department. So instead, let’s write our questions on strips of paper, fold them on origami cranes and let them go upwind. We’ll let you know if we have an answer.
