In The bachelor Monday night, Matt James made it clear that he does not tolerate bullying.
After last week’s episode, in which the fan favorite, Katie Thurston, drew Matt’s attention to the “mafia mentality” and toxicity inside the house, Matt immediately took action. The Bachelor first he called competitor Anna Redman aside to confront her about spreading the rumor that Brittany Galvin is an escort.
“Anna said something that was not normal, but the damage has already been done. I saw how words can affect people and I owe these women to create a safe space for them, and that is what I will do,” said Matt after sending Anna home before the rose ceremony.
However, the biggest bully in the house was this season’s “villain” Victoria Larson. The self-proclaimed “Queen” is behind almost all the drama so far, and has been swept away by viewers from day one for her illusion and lack of self-awareness.
“I hope I won’t be sent home because of this,” Victoria told an off-camera producer. “There is literally no one here that he can marry but me. Like, I am literally the best option for him and, like, I am the only one with a functioning brain in this room, and I am not even being rude. I am If he’s going to believe some idiot about me, he’s not me, and, like, if that happens, it’ll really suck, because that’s not how I wanted to get out of this situation, and, like, you know I’m going to be heartbroken, and I’m, like, trying to be positive, but, like, if that happens, I’ll literally die. “
During the rose ceremony, Victoria declared, “I am not malicious. I have a good heart. Does Matt really want a wife who is constantly creating drama? Or does he want a wife like me?”
Bachelor Nation was absolutely thrilled when Matt didn’t give Victoria a rose during the ceremony and instead sent her home.
This is the best episode so far. I am so happy that Matt is taking care of this house. That was exactly what I needed to see #The bachelor #bachelorabc

“I’m honestly sorry for you that you would hear rumors and not all the facts behind a situation. So, goodbye,” Victoria said to Matt as the two stared at each other awkwardly for an uncomfortable time.
Later, Victoria shared in her exit interview: “Do you think I’m going to hug him goodbye? No. And he just looked at me. Like, how dare you? He’s not my king, and I’m still a queen. Matt is a fool. The fact that he chose Katie over me. Ugh. Yes, Matt, I’m so sorry for your choices. I’d be very surprised if the girls were, like, okay that I was out. it will all look like shit for me to be gone. Like, I brought joy to so many people. Whatever. Matt is not the guy for me. I will never date another Matt while I live. Never. I hate that name now. “
The eliminations don’t stop there. In addition to Matt cleaning the house with Anna and Victoria, MJ Snyder’s fate also remains in question after Matt discovered that she coined the term “Varsity” vs. “JV” in reference to the original competitors and the new girls. But we’ll have to wait until next week’s episode to find out if she confesses it.
The bachelor airs on Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
