Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Leaker reveals why we didn’t see a highly requested DLC character

AN Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leaker revealed why we didn’t see one of the most requested DLC characters arrive at the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite game. In front of each Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character revealed, some names start to hang around and trend on Twitter, like Sora’s Kingdom Hearts and Crash Bandicoot. Among these requested characters is Geno, one of the main characters of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

Usually – unless your name is Waluigi – being a Nintendo character and wanted is enough for you to get in. Super Smash Bros., but it was not enough for Geno. And according to the leak mentioned, there are some reasons for this.

Speaking on the Japanese 5ch forum, the anonymous spill – who gained credibility by “leaking” Steve from Minecraft and hero of Dragon’s mission before they were announced – claimed that Nintendo is generally perplexed by the demand for the character.

Elaborating, the leak claims that Nintendo heard the fans loud and clear, but is confused because there seems to be an inconsequential amount of support for a remake of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars or follow-up. Of course, Nintendo’s temperature check may be incorrect, depending on who you ask, but what the leak says is a topic of discussion at Nintendo when it comes to putting Geno Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Moving on, Nintendo is apparently concerned about Nintendo characters becoming Smash characters, or in other words, characters known only for being in Smash. If that’s true, it means more or less that we won’t see Geno added until Super Mario RPG is revived in a great war, which seems unlikely at this point.

That said, as always, take everything here with a grain of salt. Not only is nothing here official, but even if it is 100 percent true, it is also subject to change.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is only available via Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch. For more coverage on the best-selling and critically acclaimed platform fighter of 2018 – including all the latest news, rumors and leaks – click here or check out the relevant links below:
