Sunset star Chrishell Stause and ex-husband Justin Hartley finalize their divorce

Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause and her ex-husband Justin Hartley ended their divorce more than a year after announcing that they had separated.

Reality personality, 39, and actor This Is Us, 44, had their legal separation finalized earlier this month, after finally reaching an agreement.

According to TMZ, a California judge made the decision on February 8, after the couple revealed in November 2019 that they would be separating after two years of marriage and six years together.

It was reported by E! News that the celebrity couple, who are now in a new relationship, finally settled the terms of the divorce last month.

While a source told Us Weekly ‘both parties have entered into a confidential agreement regarding the terms of the divorce, including alimony’, confirming that the ex-couple has not signed a prenuptial agreement.

Chrishell and Justin started dating in 2014, after working together at Young and the Restless, before getting married in October 2016 at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California.

Justin cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the divorce, and said he and Chrishell had been apart since July 8, 2019, despite the couple having been seen together on several occasions after that specific date.

In his request for a response, Chrishell listed the ‘separation date’ as November 22, 2019, which contradicts the July separation declared by Justin.

During Netflix’s explosive third hit series, Selling Sunset, the Days of Our Lives actress claimed that Justin informed her of his intention to divorce by text message, just 45 minutes before the moving news became public.

She told her friend and real estate colleague Mary Fitzgerald: ‘I found out why he texted[ed] me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew.

Chrishell emphasized that ‘forty-five minutes’ was not enough time to prepare for the onslaught of questions they should receive from their fans in common.

‘Because of the crazy way it happened, people want answers, and I fucking want answers. I know people are saying that we were only married two years ago, but it’s like we’ve been together for six years, ‘she explained passionately.

The TV star also referred to Justin’s divorce request as an “impulsive” decision and that he used to use the same “I’m out” approach during the fights they had in the past.

‘In a fight, this is [Justin’s] go to, you know? ‘ she said. ‘Like,’ I’m out, I’m out. ‘I hate that kind of impulsive thing, but I always thought, you know, this is just a problem that we solve. If this is really what you wanted, there are better ways to do [it].

Explaining that they never spoke about the divorce again, Chrishell said: ‘I spoke to him shortly after because I thought it must be a joke, but that was the end of the communication.’

A source told People at the time of their separation that the couple had been in trouble for a while ‘and were’ fundamentally incompatible ‘as a couple.

The source said, ‘Chrishell is really ready to just settle down and be a housewife wife and mother and hoped to start a family relatively soon.

‘Justin wants this, but he also doesn’t think it will happen in the near future and is at a point in his career where he really wants to be able to explore all the options that are coming his way.

‘He has reached a new level of fame thanks to the show and he does not want to close many doors now, and that is not the path that Chrishell is looking for.

– She thought babies would happen soon after they got married, but it just didn’t work.

Although the divorce was undoubtedly a difficult time for both of them, Chrishell and Justin started new relationships in recent months.

Six months after the announcement in May 2020, Justin was seen kissing his former Young And Restless co-star Sofia Pernas while she dropped him off at a doctor’s appointment.

Shortly after, it was confirmed that the couple had started dating, but it is still unclear when they started the relationship.

They made their relationship official on Instagram on New Year’s Eve, when each shared some photos on their pages.

With Sofia writing: ‘Happy New Year from our quarantine room to yours’

And Justin said, ‘Last minutes of 2020 here in LA. Bring in 2021! Happy New Year!’

Soon after, Sofia paid tribute to her boyfriend on his 44th birthday and said: ‘Celebrating this man with my favorite screenshot. That smile!!! Light up my sky. Happy Birthday, [darling]. ‘

Sofia was the on-screen girlfriend of Justin Adam Newman’s character, Marisa Sierras, for almost a year, but left shortly before Chrishell joined the show in 2016.

Chrishell publicly acknowledged his distaste for Justin’s new relationship in September 2020, when he told People it was ‘painful’ to see him move on.

She said: ‘I feel that anyone would be heartbroken to see how quickly or easily you are replaced, of course it will hurt.’

Meanwhile, after his season on Dancing With The Stars, Chrishell entered into a relationship with professional dancer Keo Motsepe, 31, who was partnered with actress Anne Heche for the season.

Keo reportedly chased Chrishell during the celebrity competition, often relying on the star’s professional partner, Gleb Savchenko, 37, to send tips on his way.

In a sweet post sent to Instagram on December 3, Chrishell confirmed that she and Keo had decided to stab love.

And things seemed to be going well, with the couple just returning from a trip to Mexico in late December.

Justin is the father of teenage daughter Isabella, 16, with ex-Lindsay Hartley, 42, with whom he was married from 2004 to 2012.

While the actor remained silent about his separation from Chrishell, he confirmed that he was in a good place last year.

He told Entertainment Tonight in July 2020: ‘I’m a happy guy. I sleep like a baby. I have nothing in mind.

‘I treat people the way I want to be treated and I have lovely friends who love me and I love them. And I have this wonderful daughter, I have a great family and I am a very, very lucky person. ‘
