Sue Elaine Marshall

Sue Elaine Marshall, 84, of Ellwood City passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 19, 1936, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late James and Jeanne Remley Cooper.
She was married to Robert C. Marshall, who passed away on September 22, 2004.
Sue graduated in 1954 from Shenango High School and in 1957 from the School of Nursing Butler Memorial Hospital. She was proud to be a registered nurse and blessed to have many longtime friends from her years in the training of nurses. Sue had many jobs as an RN, including Blaw-Knox Steel, Ellwood City Hospital and Hillview Manor.
She married Robert (Bob) on February 14, 1959. They lived in many places, including West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, as well as New Castle before settling in Ellwood City.
She was an active member of the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church, where she served the church family in many ways, including as a deacon.
Sue has been involved with many clubs over the years, from the card club to the Club of Mothers and, as a result, has had many dedicated friends. She liked to read, cook and make crafts. Sue enjoyed a quiet conversation with her many friends and family. She was delighted with her only granddaughter and loved to share her achievements. Mostly, she had a great love for the Lord and spent a lot of time with devotions.
Survivors include daughter, Darla J. (Patrick) Speranza, and granddaughter, Hannah, all from Cranesville, Pennsylvania. She also leaves a sister, Judy (Ronald) Houk from Yorba Linda, California; a brother, Richard (Joan) Cooper from Blythewood, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Ruth Cooper of Alexandria, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Daren Marshall, on February 8, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and James Cooper.
Visiting hours will be on Monday, January 18, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 10:00 am until the funeral time, at 11:00 am, at Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City, with Pastor Rob Guy of the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church officiating.
The burial will take place at Castleview Memorial Park, New Castle.
