A stray dog ​​who was seen on a surveillance video entering a veterinary clinic in Brazil is now in the personal care of one of his doctors after being treated for a cancerous tumor.

Some customers were waiting with their dogs to be served when the dog hobbled into the Vet VIP office in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, on Saturday.

Veterinarian Dayse Silva was standing behind the counter and approached the dog while he checked the surroundings and sat down.

The doctor initially detected an ingrown nail after shaking it with his paw and wagging his tail. Other tests revealed the dog’s tumor in his genital area, requiring him to undergo chemotherapy.

‘He’s doing very well. Excited, intelligent, very different from when he came here, ‘said Silva in an interview with the Brazilian online portal G1.

Silva opened his family’s home for his new friend while he recovers and travels with her to the clinic for his daily treatment.

The Vet Vet clinic received calls from residents interested in adopting him, but none visited him personally to complete the required adoption documents.

An online campaign to raise funds to cover dog care costs exceeded the clinic’s goal of $ 713.
