If you planned to tune into today’s Pokémon gifts, this is your last chance to remain untouched.
Still here? OK…
Reddit’s leak, PracticalBrush12, has made some of its name lately, most notably leaking half of Nintendo’s previous Direct presentation ahead of time. They were also responsible for several Monster hunter leaks and details in both Diablo 4 and the Diablo 2 Remaster. Their track record speaks for themselves, and they are back in this again with Pokémon.
While Pokémon Presents will likely cover multimedia content in addition to just games, PracticalBrush12 detailed two undisclosed Nintendo Switch projects and what’s even more exciting is that they were later supported by video and screenshot leaks.
In his last post, the user writes:
Hey guys, so the remakes are in 3D chibi wierd, the battles are just like SwSh. Brilliant D and Shining P, this year, developed by ILCA and not by GF. Why? Because they are working on another game! It’s … open world. In “feudal” sinnoh. Year 2022 anticipated for launch.
If the user is reliable, it would mean the long-awaited remakes of Diamond and Pearl are titled “Brilliant Diamond” and “Shining Pearl” and, although the date is not specified, they will probably point to 2021 if the second project is 2022. These remakes are reportedly being led by ILCA, a support studio that helped with games like Dragon Quest XI and NieR: automata, although it does not appear to have developed its own title before.
What about the Game Freak title? An open world Pokémon adventure set in the Sinnoh region, only in the past. No additional details are shared after the 2022 release date, but don’t worry, it’s about to get really exciting.
A few hours after the publication of this post, images of Game Freak’s open-world Pokémon game found their way online. It looks like the Pokémon is finally getting its “Breath of the Wild” time. Videos and screenshots show coaches wandering across a wide open field with visuals that far exceed that of 2019 Sword and shield. Not only that, but the combat seems to have been completely overhauled with battles taking place in real time.
We see a trainer throwing a Poké Ball, almost as if you were going to shoot an arrow in Breath of the Wild. You can ride monsters, fly in real time, climb, sneak in the tall grass. It almost looks too good to be real, like it’s a mod for Breath of the Wild … but it lines up perfectly with what PracticalBrush12 describes.
We only need to wait a few hours to officially see for ourselves, but it looks like you won’t want to miss out on these Pokémon Presents.
