Sources – Buffalo Bills OC Brian Daboll emerges as one of the favorites to land the position of coach of the Los Angeles Chargers

Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll, emerged as a favorite to take the position of coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, according to league sources.

Daboll is one of nine candidates who were interviewed for the job, and the Chargers are planning the next steps in the process, which will be influenced by the outcome of Saturday night’s Divisional Playoff game between Ravens and Bills.

If the accounts are lost, Daboll can meet with the porters whenever he wants and accept the job of head coach, if offered. If the accounts win, shippers should wait for Daboll to end the postseason before negotiating.

Daboll would fit many of the characteristics that the Chargers are looking for in their next trainer. He is an offensive-minded coach, learning from some of the best coaches of all time, and helped elevate the game and production of Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Daboll is expected to do the same for Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert.

In addition, there is great familiarity. Daboll went to St. Francis High School in Buffalo with Chargers general manager Tom Telesco. The two played on the same school football team, with Daboll two series behind Telesco. Daboll was a blunt security guard and Telesco was a wide receiver and cornerback.

Since their time together in Buffalo, the two men have followed different paths. Daboll went on to learn his trade at the feet of Bill Belichick in New England and Nick Saban in Alabama before returning home to Buffalo, where he helped Bill’s attack to become one of the best in the league.

Telesco left St. Francis to learn from former Colts general manager, Bill Polian, before taking over as Chargers general manager.

Now Daboll and Telesco can return to teammates on the opposite coast in Los Angeles, still trying to win together.
