God of War’s studio, Sony Santa Monica, posted a new list of jobs asking for help in an unannounced game.
The studio unveiled the long-awaited God of War: Ragnarok during the PS5 showcase in September, confirming the 2021 launch window. In a new tweet signaling a vacant position as Art Director, Sony Santa Monica says it is “looking for a Director of experienced Art for the development of a new unannounced title “, so we can be sure that the list does not refer to God of War 2.

Unfortunately, the elimination process only takes us here in this case. We know that Sony Santa Monica is hiring a new game that is not God of War 2, but we have few clues to suggest what the mystery game might be. Sometimes, we can choose some descriptors from the job description, but there is nothing here that is worth pointing out.
We know that Sony Santa Monica has already worked on a science fiction game, but it was canceled in 2014. The concept art supposedly appeared in 2017 (thanks Eurogamer), but there is no indication that the game in development today has any relationship. Even so, it is worth mentioning the possibility that the studio is resuming an old project.
Also of note is the recent speculation that Roger Clark, the voice behind Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, could be working with Sony Santa Monica. However, even if the theories are true, it is entirely possible that Clark is giving voice to a character in God of War 2 and not the title mentioned in the new job list.
God of War 2 is just one of many upcoming PS5 games we can’t wait to play.
