Sony PS5 refueling today was another disaster

Yesterday, Sony Rewards started announcing a replenishment of the PlayStation 5, which obviously sparked the interest of many people who are trying to protect one of these consoles. These consoles came into stock not long ago, and it seems that the situation quickly turned into another refueling disaster for many people, with consoles running out in the blink of an eye as people struggled to add a PlayStation 5 to their carts.

Of course, this is what we hope for now – every time the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X returns to stock anywhere, there is always a crazy rush as people try to protect a console before it runs out. This PlayStation Rewards restocking had some positive things in its favor, as Sony placed an alert on the PlayStation 5 list that said buyers would only be allowed one console and that if they tried to place an order for more than one console , your entire order would be canceled.

This is something you love to see, as nobody wants to face someone who is buying multiple consoles to resell them, but there were also some complications with the replenishment of Sony Rewards. Not only did the stock seem severely limited – something Sony itself mentioned in the tweet announcing this refueling – but as these PlayStation 5 consoles were being sold through PlayStation Rewards, people had to buy them with reward points instead of real money .

The PlayStation 5 (with an extra DualSense controller) runs 56,998 reward points, and it’s safe to assume that most people looking to buy a console don’t have that kind of balance saved. Those without the required number of reward points had the option to buy these points in cash (at a rate of one cent per point), but of course, this added another step to a process that needed to be done as quickly as possible.

In short, there are a lot of upset people responding to Sony’s tweet about replenishing PlayStation Rewards, but that seems to be normal nowadays, since refueling like this basically disappoints everyone who doesn’t have a console. We will keep an ear out to learn more about future stocks and let you know when we hear about them.
