Sony is restocking PS5: inventory updates for Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, Amazon, Target and more

The news about PS5 availability has been weak for months, but there are indications that some inventory may be on the way. Non-affiliated Twitter account @DualSensor – which focuses on PS5 availability – tweeted that Sony plans to release inventory to retailers as early as January 7. We cannot confirm this, and retailers like Walmart and Best Buy have not tweeted that they plan to decrease this week’s inventory, so take that with a grain of salt. But if you’re waiting for a console – and honestly, it’s probably almost all of us – then it pays to be alert Thursday for news of refueling.

Players around the world are united in their frustration with Sony and major retailers. Sony’s next-generation console was launched in the United States on November 12, but the stock has not been a match for demand. O PlayStation 5 exhausted more or less instantly. In the weeks since, we’ve seen a series of stock drops at major retailers, but it seems that few people have managed to claim a console since then. ordinary users had to compete with bots and resellers. At the moment, the only consoles you can buy are marked with obscene price levels on sites like eBay and StockX, often several times their retail value of $ 400 or $ 500. The console has been virtually impossible to find, with at least at least one person waiting in line for 36 hours to catch one on a California GameStop.

Twitter continues to be a resource for many players to check the replenishment news, but it is difficult to say how reliable the news is. The most recent is from the aforementioned @DualSensor – according to the tweet, “Retailers are waiting for inventory to arrive on orders on January 7th. If the inventory hasn’t arrived there yet, we could be waiting until the 12th and 14th for retailers to get inventory. “In the context of the tweet, it may be specific to UK retailers (the tweet mentions Brexit), but time will tell.

We will be on the lookout for restocking, however, and will update this article when it looks like you can get a PS5.

The PS5 is available in two versions: the $ 500 model with Blu-rayand an identical $ 400 digital version, without a disk slot. At this point, people are happy to get their hands on any of them, but if you don’t have an optical disc library – for Blu-ray movies, used games or old PS4 games – we recommend that you go with the $ 400 version.
