The next list of PlayStation Plus games for January was revealed just a few days ago, but now it looks like Sony is trying to reimburse those who have already purchased one of the games before. While it does not appear that this offer could extend to all titles on the lineup, the publisher can do so specifically with the PlayStation 5 offer for the month.
According to a Reddit report, a person who purchased the free PS5 game in January, Maneaterin November, they say their money was returned. PlayStation reportedly sent this user a message that stated: “As a PlayStation Plus subscriber, we will refund the purchase price of this product in your PlayStation Store wallet, as this is a monthly PlayStation Plus game. This will not affect your ability to play, as we have not removed the game from your library. “So, essentially, because that person has already bought Maneater not long before the title was announced for PS Plus, Sony opted to just return the money.

The only thing that is important to note with this report is that there is no way to specifically confirm whether what is being stated is true. Although the user in question has no reason to lie about the situation that is occurring in this way, they also have not provided any evidence that Sony actually gave them a refund through a screenshot or any other supporting documentation. So if you are in a similar situation and wonder why your money has not been repaid either, it may be because that situation did not actually occur.
Regardless of the truth, that doesn’t change the fact that the PlayStation Plus line for January is excellent. While Maneater is the only PS5 title on the list this month, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Greedfall are the PS4 games being offered. Although these games are not yet available for download through the service, they will be available on Tuesday, January 5th.
