There were two Sony Direct PS5 refueling events on Tuesday. The first event was invited only with outgoing emails to select subscribers only. Sony then had another PS5 refueling event, which was open to the general public.

How to accept Sony Direct notifications
To obtain exclusive Sony Direct invitations, you must have an active Sony Direct account and make sure that notifications are set to “yes”. Creating a Sony Direct account is easy. You can sign up through this link here. After setting up an account, you’d like to add your address and billing information. Having this information on file will make things easier if you can put a PS5 console in the cart.
To activate Sony Direct notifications, you must log into your account, click on “My profile” and then click on the “edit” button on your profile page. You will then be redirected to a new account settings page. On this page, choose “notifications” in the left column and be sure to opt-in to receive news and special offers from Sony.
Keep in mind that this trick does not guarantee that you will receive an invitation in time for the launch of the PS5 on Tuesday, but it should increase your chances for the next exclusive Sony Direct PS5 refueling event.
What to do when you’re in line
When you are in the virtual queue, you will receive an estimated wait time. All waiting times vary and there is a good chance that you will have to wait “more than an hour”. If that’s the case, don’t despair. Your status can change quickly and you may experience a shorter than expected wait time. (For example, after waiting 20 minutes at a previous PS5 refueling event, our time has been reduced from “more than an hour” to just 15 minutes).
In addition, it may be necessary to resolve a captcha. (A simple challenge / question to make sure you’re not a bot). It usually requires you to select a radio box.
