REMEMBER THE LAST TIME … Nick Saban’s daughter lost her head online yesterday, essentially accusing the State of Ohio of falsifying COVID-19 cases to force a postponement and buy Justin Fields more time to heal.
It’s a nice theory, but there’s a huge hole in it – Ohio has no problem rolling Alabama with a spare quarterback (or third string!).

I have no doubt that CJ Stroud would destroy Crimson Tide’s defense like a child with security scissors. I’ve seen this film many times.
CANNOT STOP MONEY. I’ll be honest with you – the state of Ohio is not going to stop Alabama’s attack consistently Monday night. It just won’t happen, and the sooner you accept it, the less stressed you’ll be on match day.
But I have good news: according to 12 rival coaches familiar with the Crismon Tide, Alabama is also not going to stop the Ohio State attack.
“I don’t think their defense can stop this attack,” said an offensive SEC analyst. “They are talented, don’t get me wrong. But they are not as good as before. They just don’t have the same types of guys. They don’t have those elite players up front. They are not as robust as they were in the past. That’s what you see in the film.

So … first team for 50 wins?
The reality is that no one will consistently stop or even slow anyone down in this game. But one of those defenses will feature one or two absolutely crucial plays or stops, and that will be the difference.
And maybe this is my homeland, but if I have to rely on one of these defenses to make a move or two, I’m choosing the Buckeyes.
KEVIN WARREN STILL OBLIVIOUS. We are less than a week from the national title game after having spent an entire season of college football, and Ohio State is the only team in the top ten that still plays football.
… and you will be shocked to learn that Kevin Warren still has no idea what’s going on.
“We had them before the Big Ten football championship game, and after the Sugar Bowl semifinal game, and then this week,” he said. “You just have to always communicate. We are playing football in a COVID environment. ”
He added: “It is COVID. We have to stay on a daily basis. But I am getting ready to travel to Florida, and the game is scheduled for January 11th and I am looking forward to a great game on Monday.”
Warren’s flight is scheduled to leave Chicago on Friday.
College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock also told the media that there was no change in the schedule of the championship game.
Asked whether he had a sense of how widespread the current coronavirus outbreak in Ohio is, or if there is one, Warren said, “I don’t even know if there is one.”
Imagine being the commissioner of the Big Ten during a global pandemic and not knowing the state of health of the Big Ten team about to dispute the bloody national title in less than a week.
Unfortunately, however, this is painful for the brand.
