“The Innocents” were taken to the slaughterhouse.
In the biggest cannibal drama since Armie Hammer, the CBS “Silence Of The Lambs” spinoff, “Clarice,” was gutted by police drama fanatics who demand the return of the canceled NBC series “Hannibal” instead.
The hashtag “#HannibalDeservesMore” started to become a trend on social networks on Friday morning.
“Clarice,” which was heavily announced during the 2021 Super Bowl, follows the untold story of FBI agent Clarice Starling (played by Rebecca Breeds) as she returns to work after capturing cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter.
The series takes place a year after the 1991 film “The Silence of the Lambs” – based on the Thomas Harris novel of the same name – which starred Jodie Foster as Clarice and Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter.
The CBS drama marks the first spinoff of “Silence” since NBC’s “Hannibal”, which explored Lecter’s initial relationship (played by Mads Mikkelsen) and the talented crime profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy). Despite being praised for its performances of chewing on mouth-watering pornography and portrayals, the killer series was eliminated in 2015 after three seasons, a decision that angered its fanatical fan base, which launched a petition to save the beloved series.
Now, Hannibal’s die hards have renewed their calls for the show’s revival after determining that “Clarice” has no teeth.
“They were right, it’s nothing like“ Hannibal ”, Tweeted a critic of “Clarice”, noting that the CBS program scored an insignificant 36% on Rotten Tomatoes compared to 92% on its predecessor.
Another questioned, “What is really preventing the networks from catching #Hannibal ?? DID YOU SEE the demand ??? “
“It’s #HannibalDeservesMais dia !!! Share your love and #SaveHannibal now @netflix !!!! Tweeted a fannibal.
“Hannibal” creator Bryan Fuller was moved by the show of support, Tweeting: “#HANNIBALDESERVESMORE THANKS, #FannibalFamily”
No word on whether “Hannibal” will see a second coming.
