Sharon Osbourne hires security team after receiving death threats: report

Sharon Osbourne reportedly hired a private security team after she started receiving death threats stemming from the drama surrounding issues in “The Talk”.

According to a TMZ report, the troubled CBS co-host felt she needed to take extra precautions after people started making violent threats on social media and calling her cell phone.

Private security guards were supposed to have been outside his family’s Los Angeles home in case anyone tried to break into his property.

Osbourne, 68, has also disabled the comment section of his social media accounts.

Co-host Sheryl Underwood replied, “While you’re next to your friend, it looks like you’re giving validation or a safe haven to something he said is racist.”

Osbourne later tweeted an apology, “For anyone of color that I offended and / or for anyone who is confused or disappointed by what I said, I am really sorry.”

So “The Talk” went on hiatus this week to address concerns surrounding what was said on the show.

“CBS is committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful work environment in all of our productions. We are also very attentive to the important concerns expressed and ongoing discussions about the events on ‘The Talk’,” said a spokesman for CBS to Fox News.

Last week, Osbourne also denied allegations that he used racially insensitive language with his former “The Talk” host, Holly Robinson Peete, who co-hosted the show’s first season and left in 2011.

On March 12, Peete said that Osbourne played an important role in her dismissal after she said Peete was “very ghetto”.

“In response to Holly Robinson Peete’s accusation of getting her fired from The Talk, I am sharing an email sent to me by Holly a month after she was released from CBS,” Osbourne explained on March 13th. “As I stated before, I never had the ability / authority to get someone fired from The Talk.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s wife told Entertainment Tonight this week that she is not sure whether she will return to “The Talk” after her hiatus.

“I don’t know if that has passed. I would love to, but I don’t know if I want to go back … I don’t know if I’m wanted there,” she said.
