Several hundred, including actress Sandra Oh, demonstrate in Oakland for “Ending hatred of Asians”

Several hundred people gathered in Oakland on Saturday for a “Stop Asian Hate” rally.

The demonstration, organized by Thrash the State, was held to protest the increase in violence against Asian Americans.

Actress Sandra Oh, who is in town filming the Netflix series, “The Chair”, made a surprise appearance.

A section of Avenida Forbes was blocked for about two hours while several people, including Oh, spoke and shared their experiences with the crowd. The group then marched to the Carnegie Mellon University campus.
