Sephiroth’s failure makes each character’s Final Smash attack turn ridiculously bad in Super Smash Bros.

With new characters, new bugs often emerge and Nintendo Unity has discovered that this is the case for the last Super Smash Bros. guest. Ultimate: Sephiroth.

The One Wing Angel can potentially disrupt group play, as it can, under the right conditions, cause a flaw that makes all characters’ Final Smash attacks incredibly ineffective and often visually distorted in some way.

The fact that this seems to affect only Final Smash attacks means that the competitive crowd may not have to worry too much, but seeing as the casual Smash Ultimate fan base is huge, this is probably something that Masahiro Sakurai and his team will wanting to eliminate in the not too distant future.

To cause the failure, Sephiroth must face the Pokémon Trainer. If the newcomer hits one of the three Pokémon with his Shadow Flare attack, (which causes three dark orbs to orbit the victim for a short time before exploding and causing damage) and the character is killed the moment the orbs hit them. would have reached, problems start to arise.

Nothing out of the ordinary happens immediately, but if any other character in the fight tries to make his Final Smash, he will be very disappointed with the results. Most of these heavy hitting techniques do 40% damage and are incredibly difficult to avoid, but if the events mentioned above have happened, these maneuvers do only a small fraction of your normal damage.

Bowser, for example, normally evolves into Giga Bowser and offers colossal hay that covers a large part of the screen. Instead of doing about 40% damage, it only distributes 7.5% after a hit.

Unity shows all the final Smashs in the game when affected by this flaw in the video below. Again, this is probably not of extreme urgency as it will not directly affect most SSBU matches, but you still don’t want that kind of stuff floating around and making your game look a little bad.
