Mentioning the project for the first time in 2011, she tweeted ‘I can’t wait for you to hear the Spanish record;) it sounds so cool.’

After being silent on the project for years, fans began to comment that the impending project was finally coming after several murals appeared in Sayulita, Mexico, in mid-January.

Fan accounts flooded Twitter with images of colorful murals painted the same week she left De Una Vez, also provoking Baila Conmigo with Rauw Alejandro and Tainy.

Seeming to confirm the album ahead of Wednesday’s announcement, she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in a January 11 interview:

“This has been something I wanted to do for 10 years, working on a Spanish project, because I am very, very proud of my heritage and I really felt I wanted this to happen.”

She continued: ‘I think this is the perfect time. With all the division in the world, there is something about Latin music that globally makes people feel things, you know?
