Selection of ‘Powerpuff Girls’: Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault

The live-action pilot of “Powerpuff Girls” at The CW found his three protagonists, with Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron and Yana Perrault joining the show.

The live-action series “Powerpuff Girls” was first announced as being in development in August. Based on the Cartoon Network series created by Craig McCracken, the new series sees tiny superheroes as disillusioned young men in their twenties who resent having lost their childhood to the fight against crime. Will they agree to meet now that the world needs them more than ever?

Bennet was cast as Blossom, Cameron was cast as Bubbles and Perrault was cast as Buttercup. The pilot brings together Bennet and Camerson, although this time they play with allies instead of enemies. Both appeared previously on the ABC-Marvel series “Agents of SHIELD”, in which the character of Bennet and Cameron fought each other.

Blossom – although she was a brave, conscientious child, Little Miss Perfect who has several advanced degrees – suppressed the trauma of a child superhero that made her anxious and reclusive, and she intends to become a leader again, this time on her own terms .

Bennet is best known for her role in “Agents of SHIELD”, in which she starred as Daisy “Skye” Johnson, also known as Quake, during the show’s seven seasons. His other notable roles include ABC musical drama “Nashville” and Dreamworks animated film “Abominable”.

She is represented by CAA, MGMT Entertainment and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.

Bubbles’ sweet temperament won the hearts of America as a child. She still shines like an adult, but her charming exterior hides unexpected toughness and intelligence. She is initially more interested in regaining her fame than in saving the world, but she may surprise us and herself.

Cameron became the star of the Disney Channel series “Liv and Maddie”, in which she played both title roles. The show earned her a Daytime Emmy Award in 2018. She is also known for playing Mal in Disney’s “Descendants” franchise. He also released several albums with Disney, including the “Liv and Maddie” soundtrack, as well as the soundtracks for the three “Descendants” films. Their first EP, “Bloodshot / Waste”, was released in 2019.

She is represented by A3 Artists Agency, LBI Entertainment and Felker Toczek.

Buttercup was the rebellious tough guy from the Powerpuff Girls in its heyday. More sensitive than her tough exterior suggests, Buttercup spent her adult life trying to get rid of her Powerpuff Girl identity and live an anonymous life.

Perrault was most recently seen on Broadway in Alanis Morissette’s musical “Jagged Little Pill”. She was also chosen to join the cast of “Hamilton” on Broadway before the live theater closed. She is known for presenting and producing her own original music. If the pilot goes to the series, it will mark Perrault’s debut on the screens.

She is represented by Hudson Artists Agency.
