Seattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen was recently reactivated from the reserve after suffering a rupture in the plantar fascia in his foot. He appeared in his first game last week, but will not face the San Francisco 49ers at the end of the Seattle regular season.
Although he was listed in Friday’s injury report as questionable, coach Pete Caroll confirmed that Olsen would not play on Sunday.
“We are going to keep him out of this game, that is what we are going to do,” said Carroll after training. “Just to make sure he is ready next week. Just a little outbreak last week, but he handled it well, practiced it today and got over it, but we just think the best thing to do is give him another weekend. “
Carroll said Olsen really just underwent an “adjustment” and should return to training next Wednesday, giving him almost a week to recover before preparations for the playoff start.
